First paycheck in nutrition – incoming

First day of my meal prep job. All that hard work made the beer that I just consumed on my couch this sunny afternoon, all the more delicious. I don’t think that making my own money will ever get old.

It was hard work though. And I did wonder part way through if perhaps I am my mother’s daughter and don’t have the patience for it after all. However, I think that might have been due to other things happening in my life right now, though. And I got over it.

Feedback!

My client’s dad replied to my text after I got home to say that the salad was delicious, so that IS good news. 😀 I was a bit worried about it. I know that they want to be healthy, but there are a LOT of veggies in that salad, and some of them are a bit unusual in a salad, like broccoli and brussels sprouts.

The main thing is that they like the food! It is funny how different a meal can taste in a different kitchen with different ingredients (that budget!). I was surprised actually.

Working environment

But, I am up for the next shift. I listened to music in the kitchen today, because I had a low phone battery, but I am hoping that these hours in the kitchen might be a good opportunity to catch up on some Radio National podcasts. That would be a wonderful perk of what feels like a wholesome job, so far!

And congratulations to me! 12 years after I started this blog, I finally got paid for something to do with food and nutrition! Cheers 🙂
