28 Sep endocrinology, prolactin and bone density – follow up
So, I have referred to prolactin in a previous post.
After writing that, I went to see an endocrinologist at St Vincent’s Hospital, and she wasn’t concerned about the prolactin. I seem to remember asking her if there may be an issue for my bone density or heart.
My former psychiatrist flagged bone density and heart health with respect to elevated prolactin levels caused by consumption of amisulpride.
She said that as menopause arrived that my prolactin would come down. And there was something to do with the balance of estrogen that she mentioned. In any case, she said I needn’t be worried about it.
Bone density generally
I guess bone density is an issue for menopausal women generally. We stop producing estrogen and so the calcium starts to leak out of our bones.
I was wondering if my friend knows about ways that strengthen bones with exercises and such forth. Could it be a coincidence??
