26 Mar AI meal planning
Starting to feel cosy like autumn. With lots of rain, and rather chilly air temperatures. It is a good night to bake something warming for dinner.
I have been experimenting with using AI for meal planning. It is an interesting exercise, and it makes me much more creative with my food ideas, but I have been less than satisfied with the flavours that ChatGPT or Claude have been creating/combining for me lately. I suppose that is to be expected from an entity that has never actually tasted ‘spiced chicken’ with tahini roasted vegetables!
AI doesn’t recommend very tasty ways to prepare ingredients that would be otherwise delicious either. I baked chicken thigh in lemon juice, garlic and oregano for use in salads for lunch this week, but the texture of the meat was not particularly pleasing to the palette.
As I mentioned it can be good as a launching point for ideas, but while I feel like I am learning a lot via this process of trial and error, it has led to some less than delicious meals, which feels unusual in my practice.
