06 Jul Cost of living bites
It is incredible to realise how HUNGRY one gets, when the chips are down, and there is no more money for snacks this week.
It is an evolutionary response to scarcity. Suddenly our brains prompt us to EAT in preparation for starvation.
It is an all consuming response to the POTENTIAL for food insecurity.
I have done all the right things I think. I have a big pot of tofu/chicken/veggie French onion stew in the slow cooker. I have tasty bits for sandwiches, and I have enough ingredients left over for a tasty pasta if I get sick of the French onion stew.
I also have $28 in the bank for coffees and other treats. Three days. . . That is $9 a day. . .
This cost of living
I have already increased my weekly budget by $50 this week, but it is only just going to be enough. Cost of living is definitely beginning to BITE.
The reason for the insecurity is that I ate three meals out this weekend, (a lot more than normal, but not exactly excessive for a weekend!!!???).
