Spring 2026 – week 2

Fitness this week

Good morning!! Good morning. I almost forgot. I need to get out and go swimming this morning. . . swimming laps that is, and then a sauna. As Jessie Ware sings in her recent song ‘if you want to last longer – take it to the sauna’. It is so good for our circulation systems and our heart and vascular systems.

My average steps for last week was 14,800 per day!! That is up from around 5,000 on average per day, so I am pleased. This always happens when my brain injury flares up. I get moving, it is wonderful!

Nutrition this week

It has been difficult to cook my own food, as is usually the case when my brain injury flares up. During this episode I reached for simple things like sardines and tomato on a piece of toast for dinner, and a CBF baked chicken and roasted veggies.

Having some strategies in place for when I was too unwell to cook was fabulous during this episode, because when it was all too hard, I just popped a chicken thigh spread with hummus and some frozen veggies on separate dish into the oven and let them bake for 30 minutes or so. . . It was food, wasn’t it!?
